I need to be assessed by an OT from the council but as I was getting nowhere, I was given a social prescriber to help me but I am still not getting anywhere after over 6 months.

I have already fallen once in my flat and told the council & my landlord that I need the adaptations, including a walking frame urgently but it made no difference. My social prescriber tried to get the council to respond but so far without success. But he has only been helping me for 2 months.

There was a story in the KT a few weeks ago about a man not given any help with his mobility issues, who then had a fall in his flat and he ended up in hospital. Only then did the council help him saying "No one should have to wait more than 2 months to get help" and in my case I have been waiting over 6 months already to be assessed. Once assessed I then will have to wait several months, or possibly years to get any adaptations.
Martin Francishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02194641151012303116noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2129943063330427887.post-43172662202258726232023-03-06T15:54:33.175+00:002023-03-06T15:54:33.175+00:00I would prescribe Brent finally producing a boroug...I would prescribe Brent finally producing a borough complete and equitable All Borough Public Rights of Way Definitive Map and Statement. To support active travel rights and end over-development blocking-up of South-East Brent neighbourhoods residents direct active travel options.

I would also prescribe Brent's remaining green open spaces being registered as park uses at the Land Registry (for Brent a park can be 0.2 ha size!) - and instead of 'surplus waste,' fund them as appealing, ecological, educational, community hubs, good growth support, keep their green rights of way and bring those 'lost' and for developers disappeared playgrounds back.David Waltonnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2129943063330427887.post-46017129236461291442023-03-06T15:02:34.930+00:002023-03-06T15:02:34.930+00:00Ah yes, the Tory policy of get well yourself presc...Ah yes, the Tory policy of get well yourself prescriptions, supported by our current right wing Labour PartyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
