As the deadline for responses to the planning application for the Willesden Green Library Centre redevelopment nears, local author Zadie Smith, has written an illuminating article for the Keep Willesden Green blog where she asks, "What kind of problems is a library?" and pays homage to the Willesden Bookshop.

"What kind of problems is a library?"

A big one, when the agenda requires a break down of communities in exchange for profit. Imagine Brent Council filling book shelves with information that empowered you to question Brent Council employees. Why on earth would they want you to know more than them.

Don, That is exactly why communities are rapidly breaking down all over the place not just in Brent because because the authorities tend to always put profit before principle
and when that becomes the norm you can be certain that there will always be problems in human societies.
