Brent Fightback will be presenting an Invoice to local represenatives of the Coalition partners tomorrow for all the money that has been taken away from Brent residents through the cuts in local government funding. Fightback encourages local people, suffering from the cuts, to join them for just a few minutes at Willesden Green (2pm) or Preston Road (3pm) or both.

So - do you accept that these are Tory / Lib Dem cuts or not?
I accept that the cuts in local government are a result of the Coalition cutting funding to local government. I also accept that local government is acting as an agent of the Coalition in pushing those cuts through rather than mounting a massive campaign of resistance. I accept that this is a failure of the wider movement. Unfortunately I also accept that an incoming Labour government is unlikely to change the situation.
If only it was all that simple.
‘Dear Chief Secretary, I’m afraid there is no money. Kind regards – and good luck! Liam.’

"No money" - except when they want to find £130 billion to replace Trident or £43 billion to build HS2...
It's a funny time to stage a protest. Do you really expect to find anyone in these offices on a Saturday less than three months from the election? Surely they'll all be out the on the streets. Or is this all really just a photo opportunity?
Hi, Martin
You note that an incoming Labour Government is unlkely to change the situation.
Perhaps the Lib Dem Parliamentary candidate for Brent North is relying on a sort of parity of electoral credibility with Labour and also responding to the invoicing of his party colleague Sarah Teather MP (Brent Central) who is standing down at the forthcoming General Election.

They are tripartite cuts from the varying shades of Tory. Barry Gardiner joined the Tories in January and voted for Osborne's spending cuts. Link to vote here

What do you mean by invoicing, please?
When they say there is No Money it is a matter of priorities.
Do we continue allocating money to a failed banking system or do we allocate money to the real economy ?
So far the real economy is forgotten in preference to bailing out those who are already wealthy and should have lost their wealth if the state had not bailed out the banking system.
The wealthy are an ungrateful bunch!
Yeah a protest on a Saturday afternoon - that's just weird!
