'Cease and Desist' UKIP threat against Wembley Matters

The UKIP Election Agent for Brent Central, Heino Vockrodt, with jabbing finger, came up to me last night at the Mapesbury Hustings, to threaten action against Wembley Matters.

Vockrodt, glass of wine in hand, said that he would serve a 'cease and desist' order on Wembley Matters if I continued to 'misrepresent' UKIP candidate Stephen Priestley.

Disliking his aggression I told him to go away (in rather more colourful language, I confess) and he turned his attention to a local non-party activist standing nearby, telling her with more threatening body language, "And you! Don't heckle my man!"

Vockrodt stood in Dudden Hill in the May 2014 local elections and hit the headlines over his attitude to Muslims and his suggestion that a Willesden street resembled Helmand Province. LINK

UKIP celebrated its attack on Wembley Matters with a posting on its Brent and Camden Facebook page:

Heino Vockrodt's attack follows a comment submitted to Wembley Matters which I did not publish. It was posted under the name 'TheHV24'.   This is part of what it said:
Martin Francis - the guy who runs Wembley Matters - is a far left extremist activist!
He is Shahrar Ali's electoral agent and supports Mr Ali's fascist "we know better what's good for you so shut up" policies.

This blog is against Electoral Commission rules and I will have it shut down!

Martin Francis & Shahrar Ali are deeply anti-democratic. They're cultural Marxists which can be easily spotted the moment there are a few Black people in the audience: Ali says things like "Black people being brutally arrested by white policemen on Willesden High Road" and other racist remarks.
'TheHV24' also posted my home address on YouTube which I removed.

UKIP's mask of respectability appears to have slipped.

Wembley Matters will continue to cover the election campaign including the statements of UKIP and other candidates.

  1. This party is full of nasty racist thugs and the sooner they disappear back under the gutter from which they crawled the better

  2. 'You calling me a UKIP stereotype?'.
Beyond satire really. Most alarming thing is that he claims to have 'serviced' you, Martin (line 4 of Facebook entry). I know that bigging himself up is what Facebook is all about but that kind of groundless bragging is surely unacceptable. And does electoral law allow that kind of thing at a hustings anyway? I don't think he should be allowed to get away with this.
Still, HV24 has a nice retro ring to it. Can't think what it reminds me of ..........

  3. Maybe the 2 numbers correspond to letters of the alphabet. I believe that's popular with some political groups.

    1. Isn't it usually 18 as in AH? But that would be illegal in his own country. Is that why he's blessed us with his presence? There are limits to hospitality surely.

  4. Caption competition using only The Pub Landlord catchphrases?

'Fine old English name, fine old English name'

'A white wine for the lady?'

Feel free to continue (though throwbacks like this have rendered Al Murray redundant really) .

    1. He's not English he is German. Whilst his attitude fits with UKIP if he wants to go home nobody here will stop him. Once he is gone it will give us an incentive to develop a special points system like Australia to keep him out.

    2. He's German not English - surely he can get leave this country through his own steam if he wants to rather than join UKIP to force himself out. Lets be clear, he wouldn't pass a points based system would he.

  5. What does Heinz mean by this?:

'It's true that UKIP in Brent should probably ask their followers to vote for the very respectable CON Alan Mendoza…'

Does he mean that UKIP does not support Stephen Priestley or Alan Mendoza is more UKIP?

  6. I witnessed this intimidation last night and I'm confused as to how Heino thinks that drunkenly and aggressively shouting "cease and desist" means anything official at all. Maybe when you write it down on Facebook and add capital letters it acquires some form of legal status, a lawyer should be able to advise.

Regardless, you have got up their noses, so thank you Martin. Please continue.

  8. Hi, Martin

I must confess that I burst into laughter at the idea of you being a 'dangerous extremist'!

Dangerous to who? People who need shaking out of their complacency, perhaps? An evening walk along the Kilburn High Road cop-watching might help HV!

  9. This path of legal illiteracy appears to be what UKIP Central are instructing their dim-witted candidates and agents to pursue. Barry Edwards, the UKIP candidate for Twickenham and a man whose stated belief is that the EU is 'an extreme socialist organisation' whose aim is to impose its ideology on all European nations, has threatened critics on the local 'Twickerati' blog that they can expect a visit from the police and that he will have them arrested (see the last issue of Private Eye). And the ‘cease and desist’ bit is the kind of archaic crap that you’d expect from people whose political and emotional homeland is East Grinstead in 1954.
Keep on flushing 'em out, Martin.

  11. This ignorant imbecile does not have a hope in hell of even getting any votes in Brent, whilst we can all complain about the injustice's that is taking place around us, no one in their right mind will vote for this tw*t. I live in a neighbourhood which is extremely culturally and nationality diverse. This guy has no chance he is an ignorant bigot and stop giving him air time, crawl back under the stone from which you came. How dare he insult Wembley Matters. How dare he make negative and derogatory comments about Shahrar and Martin, some of the very few people who have always stood up for our neighbourhood and community.

  12. Since this article was published I have received more rather wild comments re communists, fascists etc which I have not published. Some attempt to be menacing suggesting that the author knows how to get to my house and others are merely ageist, sexist etc.

For the record the 'heckler' is not a member of the Green Party but an absolutely first class anti-racist activist with a great sense of humour and biting wit. Hard for UKIP to cope with.

    1. The power of the keyboard warrior, Martin. Any competent 7 year old with access to the internet can tell you she's going to come round and break your legs (and probably even spell it correctly). But weren't UKIP trying to 'clean up their image'? Maybe it's not the image that's the problem, it's the reality. You can't polish a turd, as Winston Churchill/Enoch Powell/Margaret Thatcher/St George/Colin Jordan/Martin Webster/Nick Griffin/Katie Hopkins (insert UKIP hero as appropriate) probably never said.

  13. Before issuing threats to Martin's home address our friend Heino ought to remember that as a candidate in last year's local elections his own home address is also a matter of public record as it was published on Brent Council's website.

I don't think the FSA would take kindly to his antics. It goes against the codes of conduct.

    1. I don't know about the FSA, I'm not sure that they've ever shown themselves to be especially fastidious about the behaviour of the institutions or individuals they oversee. However, I wouldn't have thought that Cavendish Investments' clients would feel that confident about the safety of their money if they knew the kind of yobs who were looking after it.

  17. Yet another UKIP candidate 'suspended' today (anti-Semitic tweets this time, you've got to admit UKIP celebrates bigot diversity). Presents an opportunity for Herr Vockrodt maybe.
