Cllr Helen Carr apologises for her conduct at September 7th Council Meeting

This was published as a comment on an earlier posting LINK on September 20th. I publish it here for readers' information.

On 16 September, I received a written apology from Cllr. Helen Carr, addressed both to me and to her colleagues on the Council, for her conduct at the Full Council meeting on 7 September 2015. I have accepted that apology, and as far as I am concerned that is the end of the matter (in as much as it involves Cllr. Carr).

  1. Is there an apology video to match the quality of the infamous Nick Clegg one?

  2. She needs to stand up at the next council meeting and make this apology publicly to Philip, on record and broadcasted on Brent's website like her orginal speech was.

    1. Spot on. Though it still wouldn't replicate her bullying use of what she felt was 'her' arena to attempt to intimidate and humiliate someone who wasn't in a position to manipulate the situation as she was able to.
It would also be interesting to know whose idea this 'apology' was.
Still, good to know that 100% of Brent LibDems are prepared to at least pretend a little remorse and humility.
      Butt/Davani/Gilbert, are you watching?

    1. Agreed appalling behaviour ...indicative of the bullying culture. No one should be subjected to that form of abuse especially not a resident. She should resign as not good enough... And so should Butt for congratulating her. Shocking behaviour...how will things ever change?

  5. The apology should be public and she should be put before the standard's committee.

  7. She may have issued a private apology but there is still an official complaint working it's way through the system

  8. Is Mo Butt going to apologise for taking the credit for this?

  9. Given that Helen Carr has the final say on which Lib Dem candidates will make it through to the panel for the next Local Elections, we may be seeing a few more apologies of this nature...

  10. Helen Carr has no say whatsoever about which candidates the local party selects. The process is entirely independent of any sitting councillors or potential candidates. All have targets which they agree and must meet.

    1. What was your "target"?

"Elect one person to represent the Liberal Democrats in Brent who will publicly bully, abuse and humiliate a resident at a formal meeting"?

      Well done, you met it.

    2. What was Labour target?

"To elect as many sycophants and nodding dogs as possible?"

      Well done, you met it.

The CLP should use Corbyn time wisely and purge the majority of them.
