Was St Raph's community centre lock-out politically motivated?

He should do a FOI request to find out the process and person behind such a decision.

If its just a case of Fire Safety why has the users/Community not been made aware of the inspections and failures and what is required to fix it? As it is so well used why has an alternative space not been offered whilst repairs/renovations are being made. I suspect they are not being told the truth. FOI is definitely needed.

Disgraceful behaviour from brent council - it would not surprise me if the dirty labour party tactics are behind this move.
More reason why people need to move away from labour. I like what this guy stands for - well done to him and his work

The changing of the locks was an unnecessary action, a flexing of muscles! Aside from this why do they feel they can ignore us! A lack of response or engagement is an blatant attempt to disrupt the great work that is happening on the estate, not assisting and the clear lack of cooperation despite us identifying an alternative provision a stones throw away shows the contempt shown to residents.

London Borough of Bent is run by Brent Labour. That says all you need to know. I'm voting for the Indie candidates in Stonebridge come May.

I would suggest an open email from the Resident's Association to Brent Council's Chief Executive, Kim Wright ( Kim.Wright@brent.gov.uk , and copied to chief.executive@brent.gov.uk ), asking for an urgent explanation of why the action was taken, on whose authority it was taken, why the Residents' Association and others using the building were not notified that the building was going to be closed and the locks changed, what the supposed fire risks are, when they will be dealt with, and what alternative community facilities for the estate the Council are going to provide in the mean time.

If you want to publicise this further, the open email can be copied to the Local Democracy Reporter, Grant Williams ( grant.williams@reachplc.com ), as well as to Martin at "Wembley Matters".

What do they stand for? What experience do they have? What are their policies? Are they standing because they were not selelected by Labour?
