Several sources tonight have suggested that Muhammed Butt was re-elected leader of the Labour Group at today's Group AGM with Gwen Grahl as deputy leader. This does not necessarily mean that he will be elected as Leader of Brent Council at Wednesday's Council AGM and Mayor making meeting, he doesn't have an overall majority - perhaps look out for a Tory Mayor to help him on his way to another four years in office.
What is really astonishing, given the huge drop in the Labour vote, is that he is said to have made Cllr Matt Kelcher, former Planning Committee chair and subject of a recent article on Wembley Matters, lead for Regeneration. Furthermore (surely not!) the sources say he has appointed his own brother, Saqib Butt, to replace Kelcher as Chair of the Planning Committee (he was vice chair in the outgoing administration).
Can Labour councillors really stomach this, let alone Brent residents?
Towerblock Tatler was one thing - now we have the Towerblock Triad!
