LETTER: TORIES PLAY BORIS JOHNSON'S WHACK-A-MOLE IN BRENT

Dear Editor,

Brent Tories have been instructed by Tory central office to re-install de-selected Kenton Ward Councillor Michael Maurice in another Brent Council ward in the Brent Council local elections in May 2026.
Following democratically organised meetings in the selection process for Tory candidates for next year's local Brent Council elections, Cllr. Maurice, along with his fellow Kenton Ward Councillor, Cllr.Kansangra, were de-selected as candidates for the Kenton Ward. Cllr. Maurice apparently appealed and his local M.P mate, Bob Blackman, intervened and helped organise a comeback for him.
The democratically selected Tory candidates for the Preston Ward of Brent Council are not happy bunnies, and we can expect some Christmas crackers as the deposed Tory candidates will be joining Boris Johnson's whack-a-mole and getting their revenge.
Name supplied.

So the Tories are as Toxic as Labour with their 'democratic' selection processes. They even dumped their Leader. Tory Councillors sniping at each other with dirty tricks galore - and they want us to vote for them? It's time to make Brent a Tory Free Zone!

Will be irrelevant as reform will take their seats. In all likelihood we’ll have no overall control with greens, libdems and reform

And a Labour free zone?

Looks ever so likely

Inequalities policy/ zonal bad growth opaque planning has done for Labour.

Talking to residents in Preston Ward over the weekend about the coming council election in May 26. They generally don't know who to vote for to get rid of the poorly performing and un-listening Labour Councillors for their area. What a sad state of affairs, but maybe Magic Maurice could do the business from what we hear.

In Brent Labour are Reform already as regards discrimination and inequalities growth policies zoned.

What kind of politics totally removes three children's playgrounds from three existing green spaces located in a population growth zone (population already more than doubled since 2001) where families live life in flats, no garden, no car?

Reform not needed in Brent, it long since arrived in disguise.
