Towerblock loses Tatler nickname

Cllr Shama Shilesh Tatler was introduced and took the oath in the House of Lords on Tuesday having been created Baronness Shah of Wembley. She was supported by Lord Evans of Sealand and Lord Katz (formerly Mike Katz and now Baron Katz of Fortune Green.)

Shah was the councillor's family surname before her marriage.

One of the first steps for Reform when they gain power at the next General Election will be to abolish The gravey train freeloaders that is The House Of Lords & not before time! Can’t wait!!

Shouldn't that be Baroness Shama of the Wembley Housing Zone betrayed?

She doesn't represent Wembley Park, Wembley Hill or Wembley Central as a Cllr or MP - she represents Kingsbury - so why has she taken the title 'of Wembley'??? Is it because the place name 'Wembley' has a higher profile around the world?

Why Baroness Shah? why not Patel, Mistry or Khan, me thinks Baroness Butt would be more appropriate having been his Muse for so long.

What a complete joke she is, and will always be known Towerblock Tatler to the people of Wembley and Chingford and Wood Green.

As if the House of Landlords needs yet another advocate for tenanted towers permanent developments zoned.

Brent is bullied into being a permanent development zones borough, no neighbourhood, no welfare state civic infrastructure towered. Reform would only up-scale and intensify the bullying of the last 46 years - 'the worse the better' Brent growing inequalities between London's boroughs.

Based on media bias, Reform look definite for the next GE. So, major conflict with EU/ out of NATO, with tenanted tower multiple deprivation zones set to fund it all.

Having this one in the house of lords, makes the argument to bring back heriditary peers. Accident of birth is better than brown nosing. Complete decline of society this is

What makes one a baron over a lord? With Mike Katz there too let’s forget these silly titles

Driving on the Westway or Hammersmith Flyover looking north towards Wembley, see the West Tenanted Tower Hundreds City- 5% built, with the other 95% yet to be built.....

2026 question is how this global urban mega-growth FACT, is re-designed to be liveable, lovable, safe, secure, climate resilient, green and human wellbeing supportive, with welfare state infrastructure and car-free public transport direct routes to scale baked-in. When will politicians take interest in tenanted lives of rental extraction?

Given her track record, can't see what BS can offer?

We will try to forget them

I have no clue as to what benefit Ms Tatler will be to the House of Lords and whilst they are not paid a salary, £361 per day expenses are paid every day she attends, that's not a bad income, tax free she can claim.

She pops by on the way to the office. Not bad if you can get it.

Bored of tenanted towers the only infrastructure zoned being layered on top of an earlier lower planning tier final neighbourhood masterplan that took zero account of 51 m towers being the later actual Brent Local Plan.

BS is lorded to defend such social injustices and to block feudal leasehold for 5.5 million homes being ended by Labour.

Subsidised everthing on top of the expenses. Not bad if you can get it. What happened to her professed socialist views, that's what she said in her videos and in public, but she's never actually displayed them in practice, just ambition and greed at the expense of the many?

Didn't Labour promise to abolish the House of Lords?

They promise loads of stuff they don't do, they also tell us they've done stuff that they haven't. What a joke they are.

Not only did Labour promote towerblocks everywhere they also allowed heritage buildings to be demolished.

Bit different to Harrow where they value older buildings.

Plans revealed for 10-storey co-living block with over 100 homes in Harrow Town Centre ..."A heritage statement submitted with the plans says the existing frontage has historic value and would be preserved and improved. It also states that introducing a café at ground level would help create a more active and welcoming street scene along College Road."
