Remove the big padlocks from its two gates and Granville Road Public Open Space (Granville Rec ??) is saved.

Who says Londoners can have open space access to this publicly owned public open space only on 19th September 2026? Was there last week it was locked.

Don't think locking out the public and public use will save GRPOS. South Kilburn Public Open Space is saved so far by Kilburn Tenanted Towers Wall residents using it as it has no fences, no gates and is therefore impossible to 'meanwhile' lock Londoners out of it/ to capture and enclose for developers to build on.

The new enclosures, of new England. Instead, lets protect remaining South Kilburn green spaces from developer gamifications, we are looking at you new Green councillors for Brent Kilburn ward. Maintenance plans and green investments in these green spaces would help too, but keep them public, keep them open for car-free tenanted tower dwellers health and wellbeing and NO PADLOCKS PLEEEESE.

We agree with you but have to have it padlocked because of the gangs using homeless people to colonise areas of the estate. If its left open they move in. Any resident can have the code for the padlock so they can use the space as they like. Please get in touch . Thanks so much

You refer to developers as gangs and as colonisers. As are the numerous meanwhile campaigns of South Kilburn Neighbourhood Trust, which local people living here excluded and literally locked out by corporatism's land war, can not trust.

But, its depressing and down pressing domination when each individual member of the public (only local??) needs a padlock codes to gain access to a public open space so near to two tube stations. Where else in England does that pass as being a lawful social policy?

Granville Road Public Open Space has been locked and private enclosed so that developer gangs can seize it. Very SOON would be my estimate.

New South Kilburn. People needing padlock codes to use public open space here was certainly not in the community-led final masterplan deal of 2004 deal with Brent Council. Admittedly Brent unliterally binned that deal in 2016 and partnering with estate tenants collapsed.

Save and heal this precious Brent green space by removing the two padlocks. Primrose Hill has had two recent murders but you don't need a padlock code to enter that green space, ditto accessing the kitchen garden growing projects in Regents Park and Hyde Park. Kilburn Tenanted Tower Wall people need healthy and wellbeing assisted living solutions not more for developer land take exclusions and coloniser social abuses. This green space should be for the many not the few. Green space maintenance and care plans in regeneration year 25 urgently needed. THE FEW REMAINING GREEN SPACES ARE NOT BROWNFIELD SITES.

Humanise Brent's population growth zones not only its conservation area de-growth zones which socialism/ green socialism needs to break-out from in 2026.

Social collective destruction bit-by-bit in the growth zones. Granville Public Open Space's destruction is one bit, 2/3rds of GPOS is already built on in 2010.

South Kilburn 45 ha was a socialist planned housing estate community of 6000, with an impressive to scale and well documented state funded welfare state life support infrastructure, that in stages has been withdrawn ever since 1979. SKGZ has trebled its tenanted population to 2026, but the exclusion of that population is intense as this GPOS saga proves.

South Kilburn should never have been re-designated as brownfield land (its not a disused retail park or industrial area of Brent). SK was always since C19 home, human place and community to many people's lives continuously.

Burnham needs to revoke the brutal and hateful brownfield categorisation of England's social housing estates (a 2010 ongoing political project). Take those padlocks ( England flags on lam posts) and chains away.

Leasehold Reform bill enactment would also bring flat ownership to project Kilburn Tower Wall for the first time, with owners likely to start very seriously questioning the colonial, extraction culture of our corporatist tower lords mono-culture of domination. Build quality, urban quality and human care in the zones would improve and the offsetting of social gains to Brent population de-growth conservation areas would cease. Put the welfare state investments where its population grow, grow, grow zoned.

South Kilburn needs GRPOS open, fully maintained and managed as a public good September 2026.

Hope the Greens back the London public good rather than the private enclosers behind this public lock-out/ land take.

We don't want the locked-up garden squares model of Central London applied in car-free housing population grow,, grow, grow zoned-in/ zoned-out Kilburn Tower Wall.

Councillor Matt Kelcher is a Public Relations Director for a Company that promotes building and which lobbied to take planning decisions from locally elected representatives.

A Chair of Planning Councillor Kelcher pushed for ever larger tower blocks whenever he could. Many of those tower blocks are a disaster for residents - lifts don't work, cladding is dangerous and many blocks are insecure with corridors taken over by drug dealing gangs.

Of course Labour want to build on the Granville Rec - it will be another success story on Kelcher's CV.

This is what Councillor Matt Kelcher and the lobbying company wants.

Simpler planning for developers, greater presumption for approvals and taking powers from elected Councillors and handing them to un-elected Planners (most of whom do not live in Brent) so that decisions are made in secret away from detailed scrutiny.

Local devolution is the open door to total abuse of certain locals, in particular kept off the Regional and National Planning Data Maps (ignore the population growth data) Growth Zones.

South Kilburn Growth Area did not vote to leave the UK social settlement, nor did it vote to leave Brent, or to be a Growth Area either.
