I was in the post office on the last day it opened. The staff have been made redundant and are very sceptical about a new premises. Apparently this is normally sourced and opened prior to a closure.

Hi , I too am most concerned that the Wembley High Rd Post - a large , thriving and very welcoming post office with professional serving staff has suddenly closed down without any reason stated . In light of the current news comments on irregularities arising from both the Horizon central processing system at Fujitsu UK headquarters and the Post Office itself - the owners of this system -and how engineers working at Fujitsu were using remote access to override Postmaster’s accounts creating invalid shortfalls that the postmasters were having to plug with their personal cash assets , I request that our Wembley High road post office is reinstated as soon as possible please . This Post Office is the life blood of the local community and what has happened to it is wholly unjust and very unfair to the local community who rely on it for their pension drawings , postal requirements, sending money overseas , exchanging currencies , passport renewal , driving licence applications and a host of other services that the smaller Post Office further away is unable to adequately service . The staff at this Post Office have also lost their jobs despite working hard and through no fault of their own .
