There was no official announcement from Cllr Rajan-Seelan or Brent Conservatives yesterday hat the Wembley Central councillor was defecting to the Conservative Group. This could be because, quite rightly, the Tories are carrying out due diligence on his request to join them.
Currently he joins Cllr Kathleen Fraser as an Independent.

Why is Kathleen Fraser still suspended by the Labour Party? What exactly has she done wrong that takes so long to investigate and make decision on? After all Diane Collymore was reinstated despite making racists threats to a Parking Attendant and using her position as a Councillor to get off a parking ticket fine. Shameful double standards by the National Labour Party to get rid of a true working class Councillor. Does Martin know?
Let's face it, Cllr Faser's suspension took over a year to materialise. It is obvious that the suspension came about, either because Butt wanted someone else to be the next Mayor (god knows why he made such a very poor and embarressing choice), or Tatler used it to stop Cllr Faser standing again for Labour, while also doing a lot of damage to her reputation (it is common knowledge that Tatler dislikes Cllr Fraser with a passion). Remember, it took a year to reinstate Cllr Collymore. The evil webs they spin.

Rumours? Who is leaking things now? The Labour Group of Councillors is like a leaking gutter. The Lib Dems seem to know rather a lot - who have they implanted in the Labour ranks recently?
Fortunately the Greens and the Lib Dems still have some standards and principles and will not simply accept anyone just switching for egotistical reasons alone. The Tories and Reform are so desperate they will presumably accept any old rubbish.
Yes, the Labour group is full of holes and has been for a very long time. It is even rumoured that Cllr Butt leaks via his Leader's Office staffers, and has done since he became leader.
Cllr Fraser would be a good convert to the greens.
There is no such thing as a leaking 'water' Butt surely? However his continuing association with the unselected Andrew Porri is a bit odd. The man threatened to go independent and called the Labour selection process "corrupt" - and guess what the same Andrew Porri is then shown in another Butt selfie. All very odd as Andrew Porri was a member of the Lib Dems less then 12 months ago. Surely time for a Labour 'Leaks' enquiry and the starting point is obvious.
Ex Labour Councillor Rajan-Seelan's defection to the Tories should not come a surprise. His commitment to Labour was hardly principled judging by the company he keeps. He has been wooed to the Tories by the discredited Labour candidate from 2020 Chetan Harpale who has been acting as his body guard while they both attend local events. These people have no party loyalities and only do what is in their best self interests. Cllr Seelan and the Conservatives have a lot of explaining as to why they associate with someone like Chetan Harpale who caused so much trouble for the Labour Party in recent past and who will no doubt be as much trouble for the Conservatives.
