Under active travel, clean air and social inclusion...
ACE should surely discuss the cable car (big enough to carry bikes) proposed to travel back and forth between Wormwood Scrubs Great Park and Harlesden Old Town (400 metres), with stops in between at Harlesden Old Oak Common (HS2/ Eliz line Britain's biggest station), rail junction land car-free housing towers, new Harlesden Canalside and busy Willesden Junction Station. This public transport infrastructure investment would overfly the many electrified railway lines that currently exclude and segregate Brent residents from these London opportunities south. Travel for the price of a bus fare to local people and built for the cost of a mere 14 cruise missiles!
Government Waste Crime Action Plan is pending. Why not Starmer announce the end of brownfield estates government policy (the brutal case since 2010). Restore neighbourhood and community rights to every UK zone.
I notice new SUDS in Westminster, Camden, even Brent up the Kilburn High Road, mainly sited where not particularly needed, but nice de-paving with their wild flower plantings. Go to a brownfield permanent development zoned that floods and SUDS, you won't see any built. Climate denial brownfield zoned.
Brent Cycling Campaign, Brent Friends of the Earth, Brent Healthy Streets, CAVA Picture Palace Harlesden should all be interested in advocating for the Harlesden to Wormwood Park cable car project.
Brent has given up queueing for environmental and green travel project funds in Whitehall. Its all very closed shop, us and them. Brent being very much a them borough.
Tower hundreds Brent, these thousands of tenant homes would be so easy to net zero insulate when building, they mainly have only one external wall and a couple of windows.
At nation level, such policy would be called Growing Energy Security, obviously the power providers lobby has won so far they want those big heating bills for all, but will this lobby continue to win or will national security, given what war is teaching us again about energy supply and prices.
Maybe time to call the tower lords of the new feudal zones in on this issue?
Cable car would just be off the shelf public transport vehicles purchased from EU or China suppliers, where such transport vehicles are banal and in common use. It would be like purchasing buses for TfL.
