Independent education investigative journalist Warwick Mansell has written about events at Byron Court on his blog and was recently interviewed by podcasters Two Heads about prospects for changes in Ofsted inspections and academisation under the new Labour Government.
Byron Court Primary School is no more and one of the podcasters described the eradication of its identity over the school holiday as 'Orwellian'. She was particularly concerned about its effect on the children.
It is early days, but I am already hearing reports that under the Harris regime discipline is much stricter and there are concerns about individual support for special needs pupils being withdrawn.

Concerns heard from people who were against it in the first place? Very balanced. It's nice to have stability, calm and back to educating the children rather than constant disruption from strikes. A handful of union people do not represent the vast majority. It's happened now. Better to have some positivity and maybe wait and give it a chance?
Orwellian? Really hyperbolic. Get some perspective honestly. It was hardly good before when children were failing their exams and receiving an inadequate education. Nostalgia isn't enough of a reason to keep things the way they were.
The concerns were about SEND children not getting support they are legally entitled to. The 'Orwellian' comment was by one of the podcast team. I did say it was early days.
The end of year report showed huge improvements and results either meeting or above the national average. Wonder how quickly Harris will rush to claim the credit if Ofsted reinspect?
Very true- excellent results and a great start but also maybe a fresh start was needed as well as a change of perspective. Just saying this whole narrative is not a reflection of anything but the view of a few people. Better to get representation and differing views

He doesn't. He would have to speak to a wide range of parents and do some research but it's much easier to talk to the 3 or 4 who support his beliefs and anti- academy agenda. Never-ending if its better or worse for the children who's education was completely disrupted last year and finally have some stability and consistent routine.
It is clear you haven't listened to the podcast. The context to her comment is completely different and not about parent or campaigners' comments.
