A successful protest was held today against the demolition of the Carlton Tavern. Around 75 men, women and children attended
including local residents, councillors and activists.
The
demolition was a act of sheer vandalism by property speculators only
interested in profit, regardless of the cost to the local community, and
with little or no regard for health and safety.
A
further protest will be held outside Porchester Hall at 6:30pm on
Wednesday the 29th of April where a council meeting will discuss the
matter. Pressure must be put on Westminster to act, and we demand the
rebuilding of the Carlton Tavern!
