Mercul Slots has applied for a gambling licence for 265 Neasden Lane, the former Abbey National branch in the busy Neasden Shopping Precinct. The nearby bus stop is busy with school children at schools out time. As you can see from the photograph above and the plan below it is a double unit. The application appears to apply to just the one on the corner of Birse Crescent where buses turn on the one way system.
If approved the application would add to Mecul's Brent empire:

Following frustration at their inability to refuse a gambling licence for premises in Harlesden, Brent Council have lobbied the government for a change in the law.

We do not need another gambling place in Neasden.
This would be detrimental to the area, which is already run down.
Would be much better to have a gym, encourage people to get healthy and feel better about themselves. Casinos just support addiction and destroys lives
We have 3 x Silvertime (2 within 50 ft of each other) and 1 x Merkur in Wembley High Road and that does not include all the betting shops of which there are at least 6-8 and 2 Paddy Power, so I'm not thinking that the Brent Council give a toss about what shops they allow to open as long as they getting the Business rates.
Brent = Gambling, fast food and street drinking:(
Read up on planning laws maybe.
