From a Wembley Central resident
You would not believe the number of drivers that cannot read "Road Closure except buses" the camera sign, camera on posts at both ends of the closure. I questioned one of the workmen who said unless you live in Elizabeth House or Wembley Place apartments and you have submitted your registration all other vehicles will be ticketed and fined.
At Ecclestone Place the sign on Wembley Hill Road just says Access Only Road Closed Two Way street. This morning the amount of vehicles trying to access the High Road despiet th ban was unbelievable.
I did witness Council Officers around 11.00 am checking the roads etc and looked like they were on their way to Park Lane earlier today.

This morning buses couldn’t go through due to not enough space left. No work on project was done today
It’s all closed, but there are no one there work
Apparently Park Lane is also closed this morning - what's going on?
According to a watcher, Brent Council will be making at least £21,000 per hour in fines as there is a camera at each end. Its quite disturbing to see so many drivers ignore the signs completely.
"Should have gone to Specsavers" good Advertisement .
Need to work on this 24 hours a day as happens Westway weekend closures.
Also temporary traffic lights outside Wembley Central Station - no idea why???
Councillor should be ashamed approving this.
Park Lane has a burst water pipe which forced buses to be diverted even further causing very long waits. I am told that being worked on as a priority so hopefully will be sorted soon.
Having just witnessed the amount of traffic driving along this part of the road which clearly states buses only, there are a lot of wealthy car owners willing to pay the fine £130.00 for not adhering
to the instructions. CCTV camera's are clearly visible to all, so no one will be able to wriggle out of paying this one.
WHY IS THERE RANDOM TEMP TRAFFIC LIGHTS OUTSIDE WEMBLEY CENTRAL - THERE IS NO WORK GOING ON! JUST A LANE CLOSED WITH NO REASON - IF THERE IS A REASON WHY NOT TELL THE PUBLIC! THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE SHAMBLES I HOPE THE LOCAL COUNCILLORS WALK TO SEE THE ABSOLUTE SHAMBLES THIS IS CAUSING TO LOCAL PEOPLE. BRENT COUNCIL IS SO POOR AT COMMUNICATING!!! IM SORRY FOR THE CAPS LOCK BUT YOU FEEL SO HELPLESS IN THIS SITUATION AND BRENT COUNCIL SIMPLY DO NOT CARE! Something needs to change! Residents cannot tolerate this much disorganisation and chaos any longer! Thank you Wembley Matters for highlighting and reporting on this!
Will you report on the death of a famous stonebridge boy https://www.thesun.co.uk/tv/32797303/top-bbc-comedian-tony-slattery-dies/
Why?
Seems the actual traffic lights aren’t working??? That might answer your question???
No it’s no the traffic lights as part of the bus lane was closed too and it was only allowing traffic one side at a time - if the traffic lights were the issues there would be traffic flowing both ways!!! But it was only going green one side at a time!
Anon 18.40 - if you knew Tony would you like to write something for Wembley Matters (or if you know someone who knew him well let them know an article would be welcome). Thanks, Martin
I work at Northwick Park Hospital. I finish work around 3.30 pm and no 182 or 483 busses for more than half an hour. I waited for buses but all full. No sign of 483 until it arrived after 1 hour and 15 minutes.
All buses were delayed traffic harendous.
I finally reached Wembley Triangle at 7.00pm.
Appalling service even bus drivers didn’t know where they were going.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.
Just come out of Wembley Central station and they are digging up the road but no idea why - so lane restrictions in place all day for them only to start work late in the evening.
Where are the Brent Council Transportation Managers??? Why aren't they managing this all properly???
This morning 11mins for a 297 - we walked and no bus at all passed us.
This evening coming home just now another 11mins for a 297, again we decided to walk and no bus at all passed us.
The buses need to be sorted out as so many elderly, disabled and vulnerable people totally rely on them.
