Wembley High Road progress💪 We have exposed the following so we can check & repair👇 🚿Water 🔌Electrics ⛽️Gas 📞Telecommunications 🔴The running lane, between Oakington Park Manor & St Joseph’s Church is for the sole use of buses and emergency service vehicles only
Certainly residents report fewer private vehicles trying to get through the portion of road reserved for buses and emergency vehicle since the Council publicly announced they would be fined.
A burst water main in the High Road main this morning added to the problems.

Well done for digging up a few metres of road . The Romans could built a solid well drained road at the rate of one mile per day . Makes you think .
Agree!
We can only hope Brent has submitted written evidence to the Transport Committee who are looking at the impact of street works, considering how disruptive utility works are becoming.
The roadworks are due to huge number of high rise flats Brent Council has approved. The council needs to be transparent.
Still lots of cars and scooters using this road and being fined for doing so, despite signage stating Buses and Emergency vehicles only, and big pictures of CCTV Camera's. Clearly these people are happy to pay for the convenience.
Or using fake plates?
Roadworks are not as disruptive as not having a fresh water supply and adequate sewerage. The works are inconvenient but long overdue, the infrastructure has to be upgraded as locally we have persistent problems with burst mains, sewerage and electricity.

BUT we have never had all these water mains/sewer problems before Brent Council granted planning permission for all these new tower blocks!!!
All these mega developments in a concentrated area have impacts including extra pollution from vehicles stuck in traffic or dangerous speeding traffic charging down our narrow residential streets . Those impacts need to be fully considered by everyone at Brent Council before further planning permissions are granted.
