Kingsbury councillor Shama Tatler has become Deputy Leader of Brent Council while Cllr Mili Patel is on maternity leave. Cllr Patel was congratulated on the birth of her baby at the Brent Cabinet meeting this morning. Cllr Tatler is now Deputy Leader, Cabinet Member for Finance, Resources & Reform and Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Planning & Growth.
At today's meeting Leader Cllr Muhammed Butt extolled the benefits of regeneration for Brent residents when the Cabinet approved Strategic CIL projects in Alperton, South Kilburn and Harlesden.

The most ....... and ....... Councillor in living memory is now Deputy Leader of Dystopian Brent, you couldn't make it up could you.
Does this mean she no longer aspires to becoming Labour MP for Watford? Or perhaps she cannot find the time as too busy messing up Brent.
This is Tatler's Labour Party --- A senior Labour party source told the BBC: "Sheffield is on the up and Labour is focused on delivering for local people.
"Any action by councillors who are not on board will not be tolerated."
Surely the rest of the Brent Labour Councillors with more local government experience have not agreed to this?

Scrapping the post of Deputy leader would save thousands of pounds a yea.
BUT since it would also cost the Labour Party money in lost 'subscriptions' money for their election war chest they have a direct interested and would not consider such a cost saving idea.
More money down the drain - who pays? The unfortunate Council Tax payers of Brent.
This is a joke isn't it? Word has it on the grapevine that most of her labour party peers think she doesn't listen to any one and totally deaf to socialist ideas, and that she only has position because of who she knows and supports in the Labour Party and consequently can't be removed buy Hubris Butt.

How much money do you earn if you are Council Leader or Deputy Leader? Do you get that money on top of your approx £12K councillor's allowance and the extra approx £8K commitee members allowances?
Why don't her "Labour Party peers' stand up and revolt against how Labour is being run in Brent? Do they have no courage?
What's going to happen to the hapless Tatler now that her supporter and heroine the right wing Lisa Nandy has been removed from the Shadow Cabinet by Starmer for her views on property developments regardless of the affect on the environment, ie supporting removing environmental protections. Tatler should heed this warning before she is cast into the Labour Party pot of hasbeens. One only needs to look at the Wealstone Brook to understand the enviromental damage Tatler's actions have caused.
