The Football Association has confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur will play all their home matches at Wembley Stadium next season. This is despite opposition from local residents to Brent Council's approval of Wembley National Stadium's application to increase the number of full capacity events at the Stadium.
Tottenham’s chairman, Daniel Levy, said in a statement:
This marks a momentous day in our club’s history as it is the day we formally agreed the demolition of our beloved White Hart Lane. The Lane means a huge amount to each and every one of us and we needed to gain greater certainty on the delivery of the new stadium before we made the final decision to commence with the decommissioning of our iconic, historic home for some 118 years. We shall ensure that we give the Lane a fitting farewell when we play our last match here on May 14.
Wembley will be our home for a season and then we shall return to what will be one of the best stadiums of its kind and the most unique in the world playing host to NFL games too – a stadium that will be key to our future growth and success. Both on and off the pitch this is an incredibly exciting time in the history of our club.

You heard it hear first. Done deal. No one cares about the Residents quality of life.
I urge everyone who reads Wembley Matters do not vote Labour in June 2017 nor 2018 otherwise we will have no one else to blame for this fiasco than ourselves, for them to continue to perpetuate clandestine meetings and corrupt decision making. Make a difference Get rid of Labour in Bent now. You have been warned.
I agree with the exception of a few good councillors of known repute e.g. Keith Perrin who works hard for the residents. The Butt Brigade and other "bendable" councillors have to go if there is going to be any respect for the wishes of the residents. We do not want the moral corruption and power seeking any more.
What we need are genuine honest people as our councillors who wish to serve the community not personal power seeking people who don't care a toss about the residents.
One of the worrying things was the fact (assuming it was true) is that Butt tried to join the Lib Dems when it looked like he wasn't going to get his way in Labour. I hope they refused him point blank. Shows that he was he was only a self-seeking individual from the start. I completely agree that we need to get rid of a large proportion of the Labour councillors and all this corruption.
Jus a flavour of what us residents can expect next season ... http://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/tottenham-vs-arsenal-police-hold-back-clashing-fans-at-final-north-london-derby-at-white-hart-lane-a3527466.html
Tottenham resident Revd Paul Nicolson writes: of two LB Haringey residents being chased by Haringey Council while experiencing poverty exacerbated by Universal Credit procedures: "They are both being chased by Haringey Council for Council Tax. The first has been told to apply for council tax benefit on line by the council, but neither he nor I could access the council web site.... The first has been moved out of a council estate which will be demolished to make room for a posh walkway from a new White Hart Lane Station to the new Spurs stadium...." — A TALE OF TWO CITIZENS
