Vicar: Tulip Siddiq, do you take this man Christian William St John Percy to be your lawfully wedded husband? Tulip Siddiq: I don't respond to veiled threats or aggression I'm afraid. End of discussion.
I watched this conversation unfold on Thursday night and there were plenty of people on twitter condemning this arrogant overreaction by Tulip. It came across as a massive own goal by someone who has been talked about as a rising star.
Good on Pukkah for drawing out the hypocrisy of what politicians say in order to get elected and how they behave once they're embedded in the corridors of power collecting their handsome paychecks.
Falling in with the party line to aid your future advancement takes no time at all. Wrestling with your principles to preserve some semblance of integrity would have taken her much longer. What happened in this case, Tulip?

There is a story in today's paper about MPs being issued with a guide on how to use twitter. It contains advice on how to avoid being pompous. So Tulip, I suggest you #RTFM. (Read The Fucking Manual).
Pleased to see Tulip decided to rebel against the Labour whip and vote against the Welfare Bill after all. I've updated the Storify to reflect this and emailed her to thank her (in a non threatening and aggressive way, of course). PP
